DMA Labs FAQ

Classrooms

When are the classrooms open?

The classrooms on the fourth floor of Broad Art Center are available for use outside of scheduled course time. Spaces are in operation Monday through Friday. We close all labs each evening and reopen in the morning. Check the schedule for each room for more information:

May I store my project or belongings in the classroom?

Please do not leave your objects in the classrooms after class unless arrangements have previously been made with faculty and staff. Items left behind will be moved to the lost and found area by the Print Lab. Lockers are available for checkout, please email support@dma.ucla.edu for help.

Classroom and Lab Computers

Who may use the DMA lab computers?

Undergraduates enrolled in a DMA course, DMA undergraduate majors, DMA graduate students, and DMA employees may use the DMA lab computers. All computers are accessible with DMA accounts.

How safe is the data stored on DMA lab computers?

Data stored in a user home directory is not visible to other users, however, DMA staff frequently need to wipe lab computers clean. We DO NOT contact all users when this happens, so any data stored locally will be lost. Please make sure important data is transferred to external media (like an external hard driver) or to a cloud service (like OneDrive or Box).
